Ken Hall's report

Unfortunately we didn't have good results for the Open Men's teams at Bundoora last Saturday. We only had a relatively small number competing with only enough for two teams and Liam, who ran very well and finished well ahead of the field was disqualified for not having his electronic tag.  The Division 1 team finished 10th and the Division 3 team 12th. After Liam's excellent run we had good runs from Ryan Jackson, Walid and Mitchel and it was also good to see David Jones back after missing a year with some health problems.

Next race is the 16k CC race at Brimbank Park on Saturday week, 31 July.  It would be really good if we can get everyone running to see if we can get some points back for our teams.  If we can have some strong teams we can improve our positions as many clubs do not have strong teams in this race.  Please let me know if you are running. If you haven't entered or don't have a season's ticket you need to enter with AV by next Monday.

Tags- note that if forget yourto take your electronic tag on race day you need to buy a replacement tag for the day from the AV tent for $15. Otherwise you will not be included in the results.

Bundoora results were:

-     Liam Adams           36:10 (1:28 ahead of winner)

25   Ryan Jackson         40:40

26   Walid A Kurtu         40:44

Elizabeth French's report

The Bundoora Cross Country Championships saw a variety of individual achievements. The Division 1 women finished 6th overall, despite a last minute drop out from the team. Athletics Essendon was represented by four div 1 women who got out there on the day to run for their club and for their own enjoyment, despite the typical cold and windy conditions of Bundoora Park.

The youngest member of the team Linden Hall ran a very impressive race for her Open Division Cross Country debut. Linden ran 30.25 mins for the 8km course and finished 8th respectively.  Vickie Wilkinson ran a very strong race finishing 22nd in a time of 32.02 mins. Emma Lucas also had a good run despite having inconsistent training leading up to the event and ran 36.46mins.

Results:

8th Linden Hall  30.25

22nd Vickie Wilkinson  32.02

51st Elizabeth French 34.52

81st Emma Lucas   36.46
