REPORT ON FINALS DAY BY DANNY HAWKSWORTH

Congratulations to Brad and Mary-Anne on being Premiership Team Managers..  Jim was so close as well, the U14 girls just missing out by 14 points.  So close, but not quite.

Was a fantastic effort by the women, great dedicated from Crook and Mollica to run in Hobart the night before then fly back for the final.  Just looking at the times, it looks like everyone has peaked for the finals.  Stella McNamara's 400m hurdles was quick, and Anna Wallace came from being the 4th ranked walker to winning the walk in the finals, what an effort that was!!!!

I thought the U18 men might be a bit light in the distance events, with only Geard in the 3km and no second walker behind Filip Cosic, but looks like they performed well enough on the day.  Even without Joel Hogarth and Michael Coventry, they were still able to claim the title.

Looking forward to the Trivia Night and Peter Norman Classic next weekend.  Presentation night is the last Saturday night in April, so I'll be asking for trophy winners before then.  With the low junior turn up last year, we're going to send a letter to any junior who wins a trophy, requesting their presence at the presentation night.  We won't tell them what award they've won, just "you've won an award, be there....." so their parents and friends may wish to attend as well.

Thanks for your efforts throughout the season, days like yesterday show it can all be worth it sometimes.
